| If you walk up the platform in front of the town hall, on the right you will see a long shaded stairway that climbs to the old village and the church. One of the ancient medieval defensive towers supports the church's bell tower, built in the early 18th century. The church itself, which you will reach after one last flight of stairs, was begun in 1665, and finished several decades later. |

The large portal of the church is dated 1809. To its left, a small doorway leads to the ground level of the bell tower, which served as the town hall before the French Revolution. Here, the farmers debated the issues of village life, determined the dates sections of wood could be cut, protested against the village lord or against the actions of the royal troops. In the church, they were baptized, married, and the most wealthy were buried. |
