| Between Avignon and Nimes, the village of Saint Victor la Coste sits against a hillside between the Cevennes hills and the Rhone valley. Saint Victor is composed of the village itself and a hamlet called Palus, name recalling the marshes that, centuries ago, covered much of the agricultural plain. Once separated by fields, these two areas are now joined by new housing construction. |

The total surface of the village is 2700 hectares: 1300 hectares for the village and the plain and 1400 hectares for the hills and woods. This area covered by wild oaks was for a long time the source of the village's wealth. Now it is the vineyards (650 hectares) that have made the village famous for its Cotes du Rhone wines. |
